WCHS new football coach resigns

By CHARLIE HUST
It’s dejavue all over again ... or at least it seems that way for Webster County High School Athletic Director Matt Bell and the Trojan football program.

Bell confirmed on Monday that newly-hired head football coach Adam Turner has resigned the position effective immediately.
“Coach Turner has chosen to go a different direction in his career,” Bell stated. “The search to find his replacement has begun.”
Turner was hired in late March after the resignation of Scotty Vance in Februrary. Vance served as the head coach for the past two years.
Turner served as the offensive line coach, defensive line coach, running backs coach, and defensive backs coach at Anderson County High School last season. Coach Turner helped the Bearcats reach three regional championships, winning two titles in 2011 and 2013. He was an integral part of the 2011 State Championship runner-up team. Prior to his time at Anderson County, he served as an assistant coach at Marion County High School.
Originally from Pineville, KY., Turner is a graduate of Bell County High School where he was a 4-year letterman as an offensive lineman.
After high school, he attended Campbellsville University and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice Administration and a Master of Arts degree in Education.
