Lady Trojans pick up two 'W's"

By CHARLIE HUST
The WCHS Lady Trojans seem to be peaking at just the right time as they posted two more victories to raise their winning streak to five games and pushed their record to 14-9 with four games remaining in the regular season.
Webster will battle Union County this Friday in the front-end of a boy/girl doubleheader at Trojan gym and then travel to Owensboro on Valentines Day.

McCracken County  41

The Lady Trojans had little trouble with one of the largest schools in the area last Tuesday night in Paducah behind another stellar performance from senior Kristen Keeney.
The 6-foot-2 center continued her dominance with her 10th double-double of the season, finishing with a game-high 23 points and 10 rebounds.
WCHS raced out to a big lead in the first quarter against McCracken, a combination of three former high schools Reidland, Lone Oak and Heath, and never trailed in the contest.
Keeney had 16 points in the first half while Kaylee Duncan also finished in double figures with 10 points plus five rebounds in the balanced Webster scoring attack. Hallie Gibson continued her strong play as well, adding eight points and 10 rebounds. Hannah Pritchett finished with seven points and seven steals while Jessica Winders, Karlie Keeney, Christian Papineau and Kelsey Payne contributed with four points each. Papineau and Payne also hauled down six rebounds apiece.
Georgia Keeney, Jamie Winstead and Jala Woolfolk completed the scoring with two points each.

The Lady Trojans survived a defensive battle on Friday in Hopkinsville to stretch their winning streak to five games.
Senior guard Hannah Pritchett led the charge with 13 points, nailing 3-of-7 from behind the 3-point arc. She also had a game-high six steals plus four assists and three rebounds.
Kristen Keeney record her 11th double-double of the season with 10 points and a team-high 12 rebounds. Hallie Gibson added eight points and seven rebounds as the Lady Trojan play in paint was the difference in the game.
Senior forward Christian Papineau, recovering from a nagging ankle sprain, added seven points, knocking down 5-of-6 free throws in the fourth quarter. She also added five rebounds.
Webster led 12-7 at the first break and then extended the margin to 27-13 at halftime. But the Lady Colonels offered a comeback bid in the final two quarters, including a 14-8 scoring edge in the third quarter.
Kaylee Duncan had four points, four rebounds and five assists while Kelsey Payne and Jala Woolfolk finished with two points each. Woolfolk also grabbed seven rebounds.
Webster secured the win at the free throw line, nailing 12-of-17 attempts and holding a 38-27 rebounding edge.
