Webster County High School’s youthful baseball team picked two more wins last week as it prepares for the Sixth District Tournament next Monday at Union County High School, taking on the host Braves at 5:30.
WCHS will complete regular-season play Friday, traveling to Madisonville for a varsity contest and the final game on Saturday at Butler County.

The Trojans rallied for six runs in the bottom of the third to earn the victory in last Thursday’s nightcap of a doubleheader against Lyon County.
The Lyons looked strong early, plating five runs in the first inning on five singles, a double and a hit-batsman.
Webster trimmed the lead to 5-1 in the bottom of the frame when Devin Morris belted a leadoff double, stole third and then scored on a single by Logan Edwards.
The Trojans made it 5-3 in the second when Ethan Clayton and Clayton Buchanan were issued consecutive walks. Two outs later, Devin Morris sent both runners home with a single to left field.
Lyon rallied for two more runs in the top of the third to make it 7-3 off starting pitcher Logan Edwards.
That set the stage for Webster’s six-run outburst in the bottom of the frame for the victory. A single by Ethan Clayton, followed by a walk to Hunter Davis one out later got things going. A sac bunt from Coy Burns moved both runners up and base and they scored on another RBI-single from Morris.
Logan Edwards jumped aboard on a walk and Mickey Morse smacked a double to right field to cut the margin to 7-6. Lyon’s pitching staff then issued five straight walks to force-in three more WCHS runs.
Devin Morris led Webster at the plate with a double and two singles.

The visiting Lyons pounded-out 13 hits, including six doubles, en route to an easy 10-run win in four innings last Thursday in Dixon.
Webster had five hits and only one runner reach third base in the contest. Mickey Morse was stroked two singles, his final hit moving Madison Melton to third with just one out in the fourth inning. But LCHS starter Brandon White got the next two outs to preserve the shutout.
Ethan Clayton, Devin Morris, Hunter Davis and Melton all had singles for WCHS.

A thrilling come-from-behind win in eight innings capped off Webster’s week last Friday night in Fort Campbell..
With the game knotted 2-2 after seven innings, Webster took advantage of three Falcons errors in the eighth inning to take command of the game. Brady Wright started the inning with a single and he quickly stole second. Logan Edwards followed with a single and Mickey Morse was hit by a pitch to lead the bases. Madison Melton gave Webster the big hit, a bases-clearing double to left field. He later scored on a sac fly off the bat of Devin Morris to make it 6-2.
Ft. Campbell plated three runs in the bottom of the eighth on a walk, single and two WCHS errors. But WCHS hurler Madison Melton recorded three strikeouts in the inning to kill the rally.
Webster picked up a pair of runs in the sixth on a double by Brady Wright followed by a walk to Logan Edwards. Both runners moved up a base on the double steal and then Wright sprinted home on a sacrifice fly from Morse. Edwards later scored on a wild pitch.
Morse and Hunter Davis both had doubles in the win.
