Webster County senior golfer Cassidy Thomas saved the best for last, firing a one-over-par 37 to take medalist honors in her final career home match last Tuesday.
The season-best score led the Lady Trojans past Henderson County (186-193) at Providence Municipal Golf & Recreation Center.
Ashley Henry posted a solid 43 while Dara Wyatt fired a 52, Maddy Green a 54 while Hannah Buchanan and Elizabeth Waller finished with 56.
The Lady Trojans returned to action on Saturday, participating in the Madisonville-North Hopkins Invitational held at Lakeshore Country Club.
Webster finished 11th in the 17-team field. Marshall County won the went with a 348. WCHS ended the day with a 419.
Thomas again led the charge for the Lady Trojans, carding a 95 in the 18-hole event. Ashley Henry added a 102, Elizabeth Waller a 108, Dara Wyatt a 114 and Hannah Buchanan a 141.
In boys’ action, the Trojans took part in the Muhlenberg County Invitational at Central City Country Club.
Webster finished 11th with a 360 total. Union County won the match with a 328 team score.
Trevis Bell paced WCHS with a 81 while senior Zac Shoulders finished with a 91. Hunter Davis and Tyler Smith both finished with 94.
