The WCHS volleyball squad spoiled McLean County’s senior night last Tuesday, spiking the Lady Cougars in a five set match.
It was the fifth win of the season for the Lady Trojans, establishing a new school record for victories in a season.
“I’m very proud of the way everyone played. As a senior it’s really awesome to see how far the team has come,” noted Christian Papineau. “The improvement in our team from last year to now is simply miraculous. I’m glad we came together as a team throughout the season and I hope the younger girls keep up the momentum in the following years.”
WCHS recorded 15 aces in the match with Hannah Heady, Christian Papineau and Leah Martinez leading the way with five each. Papineau was a force at the net, leading Webster with 12 kills and five solo blocks. Martinez added five kills while Brooklyn Drury had three blocks.
