Trojan golf turns in best performance of season

Webster County boys’ golf team turned in its best performance of the season on Saturday and it came at its own Invitational match at Providence Municipal Golf & Recreation Center.
Led by an even-par 72 from Trevis Bell, the Trojans topped six other teams to win the first 18-hole match this season.

Bell, just a junior, earned medalist honors with his 72 while Devin Morris tied for second with a 76. Zac Shoulders was fourth overall with a 77 and Tyler Smith checked-in with a 91 followed by a 94 from Hunter Davis.
Webster’s team score of 316 easily out-paced second place Madisonville-North Hopkins at 331. Webster County ‘B’ team results included a 100 from Ethan Clayton and Logan Edwards 104.

In girls’ action, the Lady Trojans finished with a 419 total, led by a 90 from senior Cassidy Thomas. Ashley Henry added a 100, Elizabeth Waller carded a 110 and Madison Moore a 119. The WC girls’ ‘B’ received a 130 from Maddy Green and 141 by Hannah Buchanan.

The Trojans fell to a very good Madisonville-North Hopkins squad last Thursday at Providence Municipal Golf & Recreation Center. 
Led by an even-par-36 from K. O. Taylor, the Maroons prevailed 166-173.
Trevis Bell paced the Trojans with a 41 while Zac Shoulders was one stroke back at 42. Devin Morris and Tyler Smith both finished with 45’s.
