Thomas leads Trojans to victory in final home golf match

Webster County senior golfer Cassidy Thomas saved the best for last, firing a one-over-par 37 to take medalist honors in her final career home match last Tuesday.
The season-best score led the Lady Trojans past Henderson County (186-193) at Providence Municipal Golf & Recreation Center.

Trojans 3rd at PAC Invitational

Webster County boys’ golf team finished third in the four-team Pennyrile Athletic Conference Invitational held at Providence Municipal Golf & Recreation Center last Thursday.
Union County won the event at 156 while Hopkins Central was second (164), Webster third (173) and Crittenden County fourth (185).

Trojan golf turns in best performance of season

Webster County boys’ golf team turned in its best performance of the season on Saturday and it came at its own Invitational match at Providence Municipal Golf & Recreation Center.
Led by an even-par 72 from Trevis Bell, the Trojans topped six other teams to win the first 18-hole match this season.

Trojans fall to Mustangs

Webster County boys’ golf team tangled with a very good Muhlenberg County squad last Monday at Central City Country Club and the Mustangs prevailed 157-179.
MCHS sophomore Connor Combs, who is also the starting quarterback for the Mustang football team, earned medalist honors with a 1-under-par 36.

Webster traveled to Ben Hawes State Park in Owensboro on Tuesday to take on the Daviess County Panthers.

Trojan golf completes three matches in one week

Webster County boys’ golf team was very busy last week, competing in three matches.
On Tuesday, the Trojans traveled to Owensboro to participate in a five-team match at Ben Hawes State Park.
Daviess County won the event with a 160, four strokes better than Owensboro Catholic at 164. Hancock County finished with a 168 while Webster ended it round with a 174. Whitesville Trinity finished with a 240.

Lady Trojan Golf Finish Season with best finish ever

                    It was a fitting conclusion to one of the best seasons ever for the Webster County Lady Trojan golf program.
                   WCHS finished seventh in the annual Regional Golf Championship held Tuesday at Madisonville Community Golf Course. Webster finished the day with a team total of 422. It was the best finish ever for a Webster County girls’ golf team.

Trojan Golf

Webster County boys’ golf team completed its season on a positive note finishing 10th out of 19 teams at the annual Regional Golf Tournament held at the Henderson Country Club on Monday.
The Trojans were led by Trevis Bell who carded a 5-over-par 77 to finish in a tie for seventh place overall.
Devin Morris added a 94 while Zac Shoulders was one stroke back at 95. Hunter Davis ended his round with a 98, followed by Tyler Smith’s 99.

Webster County golf takes third in conference

Webster County boys’ golf team finished third last week during the first annual Pennyrile Athletic Conference Championship held in Madisonville.
Union County topped the field with a 158 while Crittenden County was second at 166. Webster finished third with 196 total.
Aaron Owen of Crittenden and John Davis of Union tied for medalist with 2-over-par 38. Webster’s Trevis Bell was two stroke back at 40 to finish third. 
WC junior Zac Shoulders finished with a 46, Hunter Davis at 52 and Devin Morris a 58.
Muhlenberg Invitational
Webster’s golf team took to the links again on Saturday in another loaded invitational, this one at Central City Country Club hosted by Muhlenberg County.

Lady Trojan claim conference golf title

Webster County High School girls’ golf  team claimed the first-ever Pennyrile Athletic Conference title last Thursday at Madisonville Community Golf Course, lead by a outstanding round from Cassidy Thomas. WCHS had the only full team competing in the four-school conference which includes Hopkins County Central, Crittenden County and Union County.
The talented junior fired a 41 to grab the individual title, besting Dekoven Taylor of Hopkins County Central by one stroke.

Trojans finish third at Marion, first at home

Webster County boys’ golf team finished third out of three teams on Tuesday as Crittenden County defended its ‘home turf’ at Marion Country Club.
The Rockets topped Caldwell County by four strokes to win the event 164-168. Webster County ended the day at 176.
But WCHS did have the top individual as sophomore Trevis Bell earned Medalist honors with a one-over-par 37. Zac Shoulders added a 44, followed by a 47 from Devin Morris and a 48 from Tyler Smith.

It was a sizzling Saturday and the WCHS golf team equaled the temperature with a season’s-best score to finish second in the annual Christian County Golf Invitational held at Western Hill Golf Club in Hopkinsville.

Lady Trojans golf team defeats MNNHS

Webster County High School girls’ golf  team continued its strong play last week, topping Madisonville-North Hopkins at Lakeshore Country Club in Madisonville. It was the second team victory for the Lady Trojans, finishing with a 192 team total while the Lady Maroons completed the round with a 207.
