Trojans finish third at Marion, first at home

Webster County boys’ golf team finished third out of three teams on Tuesday as Crittenden County defended its ‘home turf’ at Marion Country Club.
The Rockets topped Caldwell County by four strokes to win the event 164-168. Webster County ended the day at 176.
But WCHS did have the top individual as sophomore Trevis Bell earned Medalist honors with a one-over-par 37. Zac Shoulders added a 44, followed by a 47 from Devin Morris and a 48 from Tyler Smith.

Trojans top Central, Dawson
Webster’s golf team continued its excellent play, topping Hopkins Central and Dawson Springs last Thursday at Providence Municipal Golf & Recreation Center.
Led by a 3-over-par 39 and medalist honors from Trevis Bell, the Trojans carded a 176 team score. Central finished the day with a 208 while the Dawson was third with 231 strokes.
Devin Morris finished with a 45 for the Trojans, followed by Zac Shoulders and Tyler Smith both one stroke back at 46.
Rocket Invitational
Webster County battled a tough field in the annual Crittenden County Rocket Invitational held Saturday at Marion Country Club.
WCHS finished fifth overall, led by 83’s from Trevis Bell and Zac Shoulders earning a 13th-place individual finish. Hunter Davis added a 100 while Tyler Smith finish with a 103.
The Trojans carded a 369 team total while Graves County (A) won the match with a 317. Cullan Brown of Lyon County took medalist honors with a 1-under-par 71, topping Cash Hayden of Graves County in a tiebreaker.
