By CHARLIE HUST
Webster County boys’ golf team tangled with a very good Muhlenberg County squad last Monday at Central City Country Club and the Mustangs prevailed 157-179.
MCHS sophomore Connor Combs, who is also the starting quarterback for the Mustang football team, earned medalist honors with a 1-under-par 36.

Webster’s top golf Trevis Bell had to withdraw from the match because of an injury. Senior Zac Shoulders and junior teammate Hunter Davis shared scoring honors for the Trojans with 44’s. Tyler Smith was one stroke back at 45 while Devin Morris added a 46.
Ethan Clayton completed his round with a 47, Kaleb Byrum a 50 and Logan Edwards a 54.
In girls’ action, the Lady Trojans were topped by Madisonville-North Hopkins 192-215 at Lakeshore Country Club.
Cassidy Thomas and Ashley Henry both finished with a 45 while Madison Moore added a 62, Elizabeth Waller and 63 and Dara Wyatt a 69.
