WC Vollyball loses against visiting Livingston Central

A very slow start proved to be costly for the WCHS volleyball squad last Thursday against visiting Livingston Central.

The Lady Cardinals jumped out to a 11-2 lead and never looked back, thumping Webster in three sets 25-10, 25-9, 25-21.
WC senior Ashdyn Cardwell helped  lead her squad with a 100 percent serving percentage, including two service aces. Leah Martinez also had two aces while Hannah Heady, Sidney Link and Moriah Wallace on service ace each. Link also led the team with two digs.
Senior Christian Papineau recorded three kills while Martinez had one.
In junior varsity action, Livingston rallied for a three set victory. Webster won the first set 21-14 but the Lady Cardinals earned 21-17, 22-20 wins to finish off the match.
Jordn Rutledge and Royleigha Conley led WCHS with four service aces each. Hailey McKinsey added two kills while Brooklyn had one kill and one block. Brooke McVay led the squad in set attempts and assists.
Webster’s freshman squad earned its first match victory of the year, topping Livingston 22-20, 15-21, 21-19.
Brianna Jones, Daniell Payne and Leah Martinez paved the way to victory nailing 100 percent of their serves. Martinez had seven aces, Payne and Jones three each and Kristen Hearrin one. Jones and Emma Eastwood added one dig apiece while Emily Ferrell had one kill.
