Webster boys continue winning ways, sit at 5-0


The WCHS Trojans continued their winning ways this week by picking up a pair of victories.
On Thursday, Webster hosted the Fort Campbell Falcons, who came in on an 0-4 skid. The Trojans made it clear early on that they didn’t expect that to change in Dixon, jumping out to a 29-7 lead in the first quarter.

Cayden Edmonson led all scorers in the quarter with seven points, followed by Jon Stubblefield and Shawn House with six a piece.


The Trojans continued that dominance through the second quarter, out scoring the Falcons 20-9 for a 49-16 halftime score. Chatman Ellis claimed led the way with nine points in the period.

Webster let up in the second half, scoring just six points in the third and four in the fourth, while Fort Campbell added four and  12 points to their total.

Stubblefield and Ellis led the Trojans putting up 15 points apiece. Cayden Edmonson scored 11 points, hitting 80 percent from the floor for the night.

Also scoring were: Shawn House (8);  Cole Hazelwood (6);  Grant Cater (2) and  Tanner Pruitt (2).

On Saturday, Webster faced the winless Todd Central Rebels at the Messenger Tip-Off Classic.

Once again the Trojans jumped out to an early lead. By the end of the first period, the score was 22-2,. By the half Webster was ahead 42-22.

Webster continued to dominate in the second half, out scoring Todd Central 15-2 in the third and then going 11-11 in the fourth despite pulling many of the team’s starters.

Cayden Edmonson was Webster’s leading scorer with 13 points. Jon Stubblefield added ten points while Chatman Ellis and Trevis Bell had nine apiece. Bell was 2-2 from beyond the arc, and 3-4 from inside.

Also scoring were: Cole Hazelwood (8); Curtis Yates (7); Shawn House (6); Tyler Smith (2); Tanner Pruitt (2); and Hunter Camplin (2).
John Calvery scored 17 of  Todd Central ‘s 27 points.
